Go High Level
What we like
- ✓Genuinely all-in-one - CRM, email, SMS, booking, funnels, all in one place
- ✓Strong white-label program for agencies
- ✓Large community and ecosystem of tutorials and support
Watch out for
- ✕$97-$1,100+/month depending on plan - costs scale with usage
- ✕You do not own your data - it lives on their servers
- ✕Price increases over time with no warning
- ✕Cannot integrate Claude deeply - it is a closed platform
- ✕Cancelling means migrating thousands of contacts and workflows
I used GHL for three years. It is not a bad product. For certain use cases - agencies managing multiple client accounts, teams that need a shared all-in-one platform - it makes sense.
But in March 2026 I shut it down. Here is why.
The Real Cost
At agency scale, GHL costs $1,100/month. That is $13,200/year. For a solo operator, that money should be in the business - not in a SaaS platform's revenue.
The Ownership Problem
Your contacts, your automations, your funnels - all of it lives on GHL's servers. Stop paying, lose access. That is not ownership. That is renting your own business.
The AI Integration Problem
GHL has built some AI features. But it is a closed platform. You cannot give Claude direct access to your GHL CRM the way you can with DuckDB. You cannot have Claude write directly to GHL email campaigns the way you can with Mailgun. The AI ceiling on GHL is low. The sovereign stack has no ceiling.
GHL is not the enemy. It just belongs to a different era - before AI could run the operations that GHL's GUI was built to manage.
